Children are encouraged to use the Cuyahoga Falls Library as a place of study and inquiry. The Library also encourages parents, guardians, and caregivers to use the Library with their children. While the Library welcomes children, the Library can not assume responsibility for their supervision or their safety.
Children age six (6) and under must be accompanied at all times by a parent, guardian, or caregiver. Caregivers must be at least twelve (12) years of age. Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children, and guardians and caregivers are responsible for the conduct of the children in their care. The Library is not responsible for the safety or security of children left unattended.
When a situation develops that warrants the attention of a child’s parent/guardian and that individual is not present, the Library will attempt to contact the parent/guardian.
Disruptive juveniles may be asked to disperse or leave the Library at the discretion of Library staff.
Any child not able to travel alone must be picked up before the closing of the Library. If a child is alone at closing time and a parent or guardian can not be contacted, the Cuyahoga Falls police will be called. Under no circumstances will Library staff transport a minor in their personal vehicle. Staff will post a note on the entrance door stating, “Unattended child is in the custody of the Cuyahoga Falls Police.” Names will not be indicated on the sign.
