Cuyahoga Falls Library

Building to Reopen to Public July 22

Posted by ayurosko on

The library has outlined a phased reopening plan to ensure the safety of staff and the community. The plan includes changes to hours and services incrementally to allow for ongoing assessment of safety protocols and adaptation as necessary. The plan, which is currently in Phase Three with virtual programming and drive-thru services, will be transitioning to Phase Four as of July 22. Phase Four includes additional hours and opening the building for quick browsing to adults over the age of 18.

When the library reopens, there will be 30 minute grab & go services with limited browsing and the first 30 minutes of each day will be dedicated time for vulnerable population. Masks will be required for entry into the building to ensure patron and staff safety. Hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Wednesdays 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

While the building has been closed to the public, the staff have been working hard to fulfill holds, operate drive-thru services, circulate materials and prep the interior for social distancing measures. Plexiglass shields have been installed and high touch items have been removed from circulation. Staff have also rearranged computer and reference spaces to maximize distancing as well as implemented directional guides to maintain traffic flow. Computers will be available by appointment sometime in August. The library will continue to update the public as adaptations are made to the plan.
