COVID-19 Vaccine Information

COVID-19 Vaccine Update:
Ohio is distributing COVID-19 vaccines to its oldest residents and those most at-risk first.

Ohio is in Phase 1b of its vaccination distribution plan which also includes Ohioans ages 65 and older (totaling about 2.2 million people).

As Ohio continues to roll out the COVID-19 vaccine, sharing accurate, reliable information with at-risk communities to help reduce vaccine hesitancy remains a high priority. The Ohio Department of Health has put together a series of COVID-19 vaccine town halls with medical experts to address common concerns and questions. These town halls are a product of the Minority Health Vaccine Team meetings that OLC participates in. The events will be streamed live on Facebook, YouTube, and at coronavirus.ohio.gov/townhall on the following dates and times:

• Mon., Feb. 22, 6:30 p.m. – African American Ohioans
• Tues., Feb. 23, 6:30 p.m. – Hispanic/Latino Ohioans
• Mon., March 1, 6:30 p.m. – Asian American and Pacific Islander Ohioans
• Tues., March 2, 6:30 p.m. – Rural Ohioans

During a recent press briefing, Gov. DeWine said that the state is developing a central coronavirus vaccine registration website that will allow Ohioans to sign up for the vaccine and is working to add providers to the system. The statewide portal will allow people to confirm what eligibility group they are in and also let them find providers and schedule a vaccine appointment. Current vaccine providers are listed on the Ohio Department of Health website.
