Overdue Fine Forgiveness

Overdue Fine Forgiveness July 6 – July 17

The Cuyahoga Falls Library (CFL) is pleased to announce expanded library hours begin Tuesday, July 6. The library will be closed July 5th in observation of July 4th. Expanded library hours will be Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. We are grateful to our dedicated patrons who have continued to utilize drive-thru services, join virtual programming, and quickly browse the shelves, and invite all to stop by for increased hours in a clean, safe library experience.

Over the past year, the library staff has worked tirelessly to adapt to many changes and create a positive experience, despite many obstacles. The library is proud to have implemented many virtual options including chat reference, virtual Tech Tuesdays, increased drive-thru options, and quality programming.

“While we are looking forward to welcoming more visitors back to the library, we are grateful for the opportunity to learn from the COVID-19 pandemic. It was valuable to see that we could increase accessibility to the community through creative virtual outlets,” said Director Valerie Kocin.

CFL recognizes this has been a difficult year for everyone. In response, overdue fines will be waived July 6 – July 17. Simply return any outstanding checked-out materials during this time period and staff will remove overdue fines from your account. If you’ve lost your library card, the library will replace it for free as well.

Additional changes include a lift on time limits on library visits, and study rooms are available for two-hour reservations. Patrons may continue to use computers, printing, and copying services. While most programming will remain virtual for the coming months, some outdoor in-person programming is available such as Messy Mondays! Please visit the library calendar to learn more: www.cuyahogafallslibrary.org/calendar.

When visiting the library, individuals who have been fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks. Children ages 2-11 and unvaccinated adults are required to wear masks. Library staff will continue to wear masks until further notice. The library encourages everyone eligible to receive a vaccine to do so to protect yourself and those around you: https://gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov/.

CFL will continue to innovate to ensure the safety of staff and patrons, especially the most vulnerable. Social distancing, Plexiglas dividers, and frequent sanitization are all important measures in creating a safe and healthy library experience for everyone.
